Is disc bulging at C3–4 and C5–6 severe?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve frequently felt discomfort in my neck. A friend suggested I visit a hospital for an examination, which revealed disc bulges at the C3–C4 and C5–C6 levels. How serious are C3–C4 and C5–C6 disc bulges?
Bulging of the C3–C4 and C5–C6 intervertebral discs represents a relatively severe condition. Once bony protrusion occurs in the cervical spine, it may mildly affect surrounding neural and muscular tissues, leading to compression of adjacent nerves and other tissue structures. This can result in symptoms such as neck stiffness, numbness, and restricted mobility.
For patients with C3–C4 and C5–C6 disc bulging, it is recommended to maintain adequate warmth at the affected site.
