Does nosebleed occur during the early stage of AIDS?
Disease description:
Since yesterday, I’ve been experiencing muscle soreness throughout my body, and my nose suddenly bled while brushing my teeth and washing my face. I suspect it might be HIV infection—could nasal bleeding occur during the early stage of HIV?
In the early stages of the aforementioned diseases, epistaxis (nosebleeds) may occur. Patients experience decreased immune resistance, along with reduced synthesis of platelets and coagulation factors, leading to a bleeding tendency and hemorrhagic disorders—manifesting as bleeding from the oral mucosa, gums, and nasal passages. Additional symptoms include low-grade fever, headache, vomiting, limb pain, and localized lymphadenopathy. A hallmark clinical feature is rapid weight loss, which may be accompanied by diarrhea.
