What Are the Initial Symptoms of HIV Infection in Women?
Disease description:
A friend’s older sister has been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, and she has recently been feeling unwell. What are the early symptoms of HIV infection in women?
In the early stage of HIV infection, women may experience symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and sore throat. Acute-phase symptoms typically appear two to four weeks after viral entry into the body, primarily resulting from HIV viremia and acute immune system damage. The most common symptom is fever, often accompanied by malaise, headache, night sweats, and neurological symptoms. Patients experiencing any of these symptoms are advised to seek prompt medical evaluation at a hospital.
