The baby’s symptoms are not particularly severe. Encourage the baby to drink more warm water to help relieve nasal congestion caused by the common cold, and ensure appropriate warmth. Nasal congestion following a cold is typically triggered by exposure to cold air; therefore, maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and avoid letting the baby become too cold. Pay close attention to keeping the baby warm—dress the baby in thick, insulating clothing to prevent chills and subsequent nasal congestion. Since there is often a large amount of nasal secretion, gently clear the nasal passages of mucus.
