Common symptoms include upper respiratory tract manifestations such as rhinorrhea, sneezing, and nasal congestion, along with fever—either high-grade or low-grade. If the fever is caused by a common cold, symptoms typically improve after the fever subsides, though a dry cough or productive cough may persist. Older children may experience headache, ocular discomfort, generalized myalgia and fatigue, reluctance to get out of bed, poor appetite, rhinorrhea, sore throat, and cough.
