This medication treats rhinorrhea (runny nose) by dispelling wind and resolving the exterior syndrome. It also effectively alleviates symptoms such as headache and cerebral heat associated with wind-heat感冒 (wind-heat invasion). Patients may also soak a towel in hot water and apply it to the nose; after several alternating applications, thick nasal mucus becomes easier to dissolve and drain. For productive cough with phlegm, anti-inflammatory medications—such as Fulin (amoxicillin-clavulanate) or cefaclor granules—may be administered.
