Coughing and teeth grinding (bruxism) are generally caused by various factors. In children, coughing is primarily due to dry indoor air and increased susceptibility of the respiratory tract to infection; therefore, maintaining appropriate indoor temperature and humidity is essential, and oral medications may be administered under a physician’s guidance. Teeth grinding during the teething period is a normal physiological phenomenon and does not require treatment. However, if it occurs outside the teething period, it may be attributable to factors such as intestinal parasitic infection, excessive mental stress, or occlusal dysfunction.
