This condition can typically be managed by increasing fluid intake. Patients should generally consume light, bland foods and avoid feeding children spicy or irritating foods. Adequate rest is essential, along with a diet rich in fresh vegetables and fruits. If the child has a cough, easily digestible foods are recommended. For example, you may prepare rock sugar–stewed pear syrup for the child. In cases of more severe coughing, medications may be administered under a physician’s guidance.
