Manifestations of Cerebral Palsy in a 2-Year-Old Child
Disease description:
The child is now two years old and still walks unsteadily. He shows no interest in toys around him, raising suspicion of cerebral palsy. What are the manifestations of cerebral palsy in a two-year-old child?
Typically, symptoms include motor incoordination and impaired comprehension. Patients are unable to engage in normal communication or understand spoken language directed at them. They exhibit poor attention span and lack interest in their surroundings. Motor skills are significantly delayed—patients cannot walk, maintain an upright posture, or sit independently. Additional signs may include dementia, absence of smiling, emotional lability (e.g., easy agitation and frequent crying). It is recommended that the patient undergo further evaluation at a hospital.
