What are the symptoms of mild cerebral palsy in children?
Disease description:
After birth, the child’s head circumference differs from that of other children of the same age; cerebral palsy is suspected. What are the symptoms of mild cerebral palsy in children?
Symptoms typically include abnormal head circumference. In children, cerebral palsy commonly manifests as motor impairment affecting one side of the body (hemiplegia) or both sides (diplegia or quadriplegia). It is characterized by central nervous system–mediated motor abnormalities. Children with mild cerebral palsy often exhibit significant developmental delays—for example, while typically developing children can lift their heads, roll over, and sit independently, children with cerebral palsy may be unable to perform these milestones appropriately.
