My baby has a mild case of food stagnation, and occasionally experiences coughing as well. I would like to ask: What are the symptoms of coughing associated with food stagnation in infants?

Nocturnal cough in children commonly occurs at night. Cough due to food retention (indigestion) in children also predominantly manifests during nighttime; symptoms typically worsen after the child falls asleep. During daytime, symptoms may ease, but without timely treatment, the cough may intensify and, in advanced stages, progress to tracheitis. Additionally, food retention often leads to a thick, difficult-to-remove tongue coating and is prone to cause halitosis. Notably, halitosis is prominent during coughing episodes and persists despite toothbrushing or mouth rinsing.
