Chronic overexertion and repetitive strain injuries are common causes of sterile inflammation of the fascia, leading to pain. Additionally, physical exertion—particularly heavy labor—may place excessive pressure or compression on tendons and bones, resulting in soreness and pain in these areas. Such pain is especially pronounced following exposure to cold or fatigue.
