For ligament surgery on the upper limbs, incisional pain usually diminishes significantly, and patients are generally able to ambulate within approximately one week. In contrast, ligament surgery on the lower limbs requires a longer recovery time. The lower limb joints bear substantial weight, and the repaired ligaments must withstand mechanical stress during ambulation; therefore, patients are typically permitted to begin weight-bearing activities around one month postoperatively.
