What Does an Early-Stage HIV Rash Look Like?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve developed a rash on my skin and am worried it might be caused by HIV. What does an early-stage HIV rash look like?
Early-stage HIV-associated rash typically manifests as reddish-brown or red macules, papules, and rashes on the chest, back, neck, face, extremities, or genital areas. It is generally not associated with severe pruritus; however, tenderness may be present upon palpation. With active, physician-guided treatment, the rash usually resolves within approximately 1 to 3 years.
