Can synovitis cause generalized pruritus?
Disease description:
I’ve been experiencing generalized itching over the past two days. I have been diagnosed with synovitis—could this be related? Can synovitis cause generalized itching?
Synovitis does not cause generalized pruritus (whole-body itching). It may, however, cause localized joint pain, swelling, and restricted mobility. Treatment options include analgesic, blood-activating, and stasis-resolving medications, combined with physical therapy and local heat application—these measures often provide rapid symptom relief. If generalized pruritus occurs, it is generally not attributable to synovitis; in such cases, antipruritic medications may be used for treatment.
