Heel spurs can be treated using two methods: extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and corticosteroid injection therapy. For younger patients, ESWT is generally recommended for symptom relief. This treatment is typically administered once per week for approximately five sessions, effectively improving local blood circulation around the spur and gradually resolving the associated inflammatory response. For elderly patients, corticosteroid injection therapy is preferred, as it rapidly reduces inflammation and thereby alleviates pain.
