Can pulpitis be treated with injections for pain relief?
Disease description:
My teeth have been hurting severely lately, and I suspect it’s due to pulpitis. Can pulpitis be treated with an injection for pain relief?
Pulpitis can be temporarily alleviated with pain-relieving injections, which provide symptomatic pain relief but do not cure the underlying pulpitis. Root canal treatment is typically required for pulpitis; therefore, patients are advised to promptly consult a dentist or oral specialist for evaluation. If the affected tooth retains sufficient structural integrity and functional value, root canal therapy may be performed. However, if the tooth is non-salvageable, extraction is usually recommended. With appropriate treatment, symptoms generally improve significantly.
