Acute gastroenteritis patients can generally take berberine hydrochloride tablets. These tablets are primarily indicated for intestinal infections; thus, if the gastroenteritis is caused by a bacterial infection, the patient may take this medication under a physician’s guidance and supervision. During treatment, drink plenty of warm water and follow a light, bland diet—avoiding greasy, spicy, or otherwise highly irritating foods.
