Can rosacea be treated with nose strips?
Disease description:
My son has developed many black dots on his nose, and I suspect it’s rosacea. Can nose strips be used to treat rosacea?
Rosacea is generally not recommended for treatment with nose strips. Nose strips may contain certain chemical ingredients that could cause localized damage to the skin and soft tissues. Additionally, redness of the nasal area may occur when removing the strips, potentially adversely affecting the patient’s health. For rosacea management, local warm compresses may be used; additionally, medications such as metronidazole gel—prescribed by a physician—can help improve symptoms more effectively.
