Can hypokalemia cause hypothermia?
Disease description:
Recently, my body temperature has been relatively low. Is this due to hypokalemia? Can hypokalemia cause hypothermia?
Hypokalemia generally does not cause hypothermia. When the body develops hypokalemia, symptoms such as limb weakness, abdominal distension, nausea, and vomiting may occur. In severe cases, patients may experience flaccid paralysis, chest tightness, shortness of breath, or cardiac arrhythmias. However, hypokalemia typically does not affect body temperature. It is recommended to promptly replenish potassium to alleviate symptoms.
