How to treat nasal polyps
Disease description:
I’ve been experiencing thick nasal discharge for several days, along with snoring during sleep. My doctor diagnosed me with nasal polyps—how can this be treated?
The management of nasal polyps depends on the severity of the condition. For mild symptoms, drug therapy under a physician’s guidance may be sufficient—for example, antibiotics such as amoxicillin–clavulanate potassium or cefradine to control infection, combined with intranasal corticosteroid sprays (e.g., triamcinolone acetonide nasal spray or fluticasone propionate nasal spray) to alleviate symptoms. In cases of severe symptoms, surgical intervention at a hospital is recommended.
