Patients with hyperthyroidism typically take methimazole tablets for approximately one to two years. The exact duration cannot be predetermined and depends on the individual patient’s physical condition and the severity of their hyperthyroidism. For patients with good general health and mild disease, treatment usually lasts about one year. In contrast, those with poorer physical condition or more severe disease generally require treatment for approximately two years.
