What Are the Eye Symptoms of Hyperlipidemia?
Disease description:
My frequent consumption of high-fat foods has led to hyperlipidemia. I’ve heard that hyperlipidemia can cause eye-related symptoms—what are the ocular manifestations of hyperlipidemia?
Hyperlipidemia-induced premature corneal arcus manifests as grayish-white or white opacities at the peripheral cornea. As the condition progresses, it may lead to retinal changes; some patients may also experience visual impairment, photophobia, and excessive tearing. In severe cases, blindness can occur. Patients with hyperlipidemia should avoid high-fat foods in daily life.
