What should I do if my hands are peeling?
Disease description:
Recently, the weather has been quite dry, and my hands have started peeling—causing significant discomfort. What should I do about peeling hands?
If peeling occurs on the hands, topical ointments or moisturizers—such as vitamin E cream or hand cream—may be applied for relief. If peeling is caused by dermatitis, topical retinoic acid cream or tacrolimus ointment may be used as prescribed by a physician. If fungal infection is responsible, compounded ketoconazole ointment or other antifungal agents may be applied under medical guidance. For hand peeling, it is important to maintain adequate hydration: drink plenty of warm water and consume fresh fruits and vegetables.
