Physicians can determine the type of pediatric diarrhea based on clinical symptoms. There are numerous classifications of this condition, with the main types including Spleen-Deficiency Diarrhea, Damp-Heat Diarrhea, and Wind-Cold Diarrhea. Watery stools containing foam or appearing green indicate Wind-Cold Diarrhea. In contrast, urgent bowel movements with foul-smelling, mucoid stools, perianal redness and swelling, and dry lips suggest Damp-Heat Diarrhea.
