Can children with ADHD eat apples?
Disease description:
My child is always more active than other children and disobedient. After visiting the hospital, he was diagnosed with pediatric attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Previously, my baby loved eating apples—now I’m unsure whether it’s still safe for him to eat them. May children with ADHD consume apples?
Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can eat apples. Apples contain vitamins and possess antioxidant properties, which help enhance immune function; consuming apples will not exacerbate ADHD symptoms. In general, children with ADHD may eat most fruits, but intake should be moderate and limited to fresh fruits—not fruit-based processed products. Nutrient-rich vegetables such as mushrooms and wood ear fungus may also be consumed in appropriate amounts to supplement essential minerals required by the child’s body. During treatment, regular medical check-ups are essential, and therapeutic approaches should be selected based on the child’s individual health status.
