Ascariasis can cause constipation. Typically, *Ascaris lumbricoides* resides as a parasite in the human intestinal tract, where it impedes intestinal peristalsis—leading not only to constipation but also to indigestion and intestinal obstruction. Additionally, patients diagnosed with ascariasis may take anthelmintic medications orally, such as albendazole or mebendazole. Patients are advised to maintain good personal hygiene in daily life, especially by washing hands before and after meals.
