This symptom may result from an overly warm sleeping environment or from inflammation within the child’s body; therefore, prompt hydration is essential to alleviate it. If the cause is viral, antiviral medications may be used. If it is bacterial, antibiotics may be prescribed for targeted treatment, and oral traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) may also be considered. If the child’s temperature exceeds 38.5°C, oral acetaminophen suspension can be administered for rapid fever reduction and symptomatic relief.
