Can patients who have undergone surgery for atrial septal defect (a type of congenital heart disease) stay up late?
Disease description:
I have had congenital heart disease—specifically, an atrial septal defect (ASD)—since childhood. I have now undergone surgical repair. After ASD surgery for congenital heart disease, is it safe to stay up late?
Staying up late is generally not recommended. In daily life, one should consume a low-salt, low-fat diet, maintain a positive mental state, ensure adequate sleep, keep bowel movements regular, avoid overeating, and balance work with rest appropriately. If recovery after surgery is good, occasional late nights may be acceptable, but frequent sleep deprivation should be avoided, as it can impair immune function.
