If pain occurs after using ofloxacin ear drops, discontinue use immediately, gently wipe the external ear canal clean, and seek prompt medical attention for professional ear irrigation to prevent worsening inflammation. Ofloxacin ear drops are primarily indicated for the treatment of acute suppurative otitis media or acute exacerbations of chronic suppurative otitis media. Both conditions may result in tympanic membrane perforation, with purulent discharge draining into the external auditory canal and causing inflammatory hyperemia and edema of the middle ear mucosa. Patients may use ofloxacin ear drops for treatment.
