Myopic proptosis (eye protrusion) is irreversible. It is more commonly observed in individuals with moderate to high myopia; the higher the refractive error, the more pronounced the proptosis. Axial elongation occurs predominantly posterior to the equator of the eye and—due to individual facial anatomical features—may lead to posterior scleral staphyloma. In daily life, eye protection is essential: avoid prolonged use of electronic devices such as smartphones to prevent further deterioration of vision.
