Is a steam eye mask good for dry eye syndrome?

I’ve been diagnosed with dry eye syndrome. Fortunately, I already have some steam eye masks at home that I purchased earlier, and they feel quite soothing when used. Are steam eye masks beneficial for dry eye syndrome?

Steam eye masks are effective for treating dry eye syndrome; patients may also use warm compresses—both methods can promote improvement and recovery. Appropriate warm compresses help soften and expel secretions, unblock meibomian gland function, and effectively alleviate dry eye syndrome caused by excessive tear evaporation. Artificial tears or anti-inflammatory medications may also be used. For cases accompanied by ocular inflammation, corticosteroid-containing anti-inflammatory agents may be added as appropriate.
