Conjunctivitis (pink eye) does not necessarily prohibit going outdoors. However, wearing sunglasses when outside is advisable—primarily to protect the eyes from environmental bacteria and harmful substances, as well as to shield them from direct ultraviolet (UV) radiation. During active infection, it is best to minimize outdoor activities whenever possible. After returning home, individuals with conjunctivitis should practice strict personal hygiene: wash hands thoroughly after touching door handles; use separate basins and towels for washing the face and eyes; boil towels in hot water to disinfect them; and avoid close contact with family members to prevent viral transmission within the household.
