Complete achromatopsia does not cause decreased visual acuity. Color blindness is an abnormality of color vision, whereas decreased visual acuity is an abnormality of visual function. Color blindness is primarily caused by congenital developmental defects or acquired factors such as exposure to certain chemicals. Changes in visual acuity may result from either congenital or acquired causes. Generally, color blindness does not lead to reduced visual acuity, and there is no causal relationship between the two conditions.
