Can hemophilia be detected non-invasively?
Disease description:
I have hemophilia and am concerned that my child might inherit the condition. Therefore, I would like to consult whether non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) can detect hemophilia.
Hemophilia can generally be diagnosed through non-invasive testing. “Non-invasive” typically refers to non-invasive prenatal DNA testing (NIPT). DNA serves as the primary carrier of genetic information and can reflect an individual’s health status. Non-invasive DNA testing enables the detection of X-linked inherited disorders—such as hemophilia and progressive muscular dystrophy—with high accuracy and low risk.
