What causes small flesh-colored bumps or nodules on the neck?
Disease description:
The child has had some small bumps on the neck since before the Spring Festival. These bumps resemble tiny flesh-colored granules and are neither red nor swollen. What could be causing this?
Small, raised bumps or flesh-colored granules on the neck may be flat warts—smooth-surfaced, yellowish-brown papules about the size of soybeans. Topical application of imiquimod cream may help alleviate symptoms. Alternatively, they could be filiform warts, which are caused by viral infection and are contagious. Avoid scrubbing or picking at the neck during bathing to prevent skin injury and potential widespread dissemination. Laser therapy is a viable treatment option.
