I’ve had chronic gastric discomfort for several years, and during a routine physical examination, I was diagnosed with gastroptosis. My family has Zhongyi Qiyi Wan (Buzhong Yiqi Wan) at home. Can applying Buzhong Yiqi Wan to the umbilicus treat gastroptosis?

Buzhong Yiqi Pills applied to the umbilicus may treat gastric ptosis. Buzhong Yiqi Pills are a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula indicated for spleen and stomach deficiency, strengthening the spleen, and regulating the pulse. They are primarily used to treat conditions caused by sinking of the central qi, such as gastric ptosis, uterine prolapse, and rectal prolapse. For mild gastric ptosis, Buzhong Yiqi Pills may be used to help regulate and improve symptoms; however, for severe cases of gastric ptosis, surgical intervention is recommended.
