What causes rectal bleeding during pregnancy?
Disease description:
After my sister-in-law became pregnant, her mood became extremely volatile. She burst into tears right after using the toilet, scaring the entire family. They said she was bleeding from her buttocks. What causes rectal bleeding during bowel movements in pregnant women?
Bleeding during bowel movements may result from improper diet, anal fissures, or other causes. During pregnancy, consuming excessive spicy or “heat-inducing” foods can impair gastrointestinal motility, leading to constipation and subsequently hemorrhoids, which may cause rectal bleeding. Additionally, reduced physical activity during pregnancy, coupled with uterine compression of the intestines, often results in constipation and hard stools. These conditions can cause tears in the anal canal skin—known as anal fissures—leading to rectal bleeding and painful defecation.
