What illness causes mouth ulcers and fever in children?
Disease description:
The child has oral ulcers accompanied by fever, but the underlying cause is unknown. What disease could this be?
A child with oral ulcers accompanied by fever may have herpangina. Under a physician’s guidance, patients can receive appropriate antiviral therapy. Gargling with normal saline may serve as an adjunctive treatment. In more severe cases, physical cooling—such as wiping the body with a damp towel—may be employed, and antipyretic medications like ibuprofen sustained-release suspension may be used to reduce fever.
