Can lumbar spine problems cause pain in other areas?
Disease description:
My lumbar spine is unhealthy, and I frequently experience lower back pain. Today, I also developed leg pain. Could you please explain which areas of the body may experience pain due to lumbar spine problems?
This condition may cause low back pain, lumbar muscle stiffness, limited lumbar spine mobility, and a positive straight-leg raise test in both lower limbs, significantly restricting the patient’s functional activities of the lumbar region. In another patient, paresthesia and hypoesthesia may occur in the lower half of the body, with diminished dorsiflexion strength in the feet and great toes; in severe cases, pathological reflexes may appear. Patients should also avoid prolonged sitting in daily life, maintain proper sitting and standing postures, avoid kyphosis and excessive physical strain, and protect against cold exposure to prevent exacerbation of pain.
