Disease description:

My husband recently underwent coronary heart disease surgery one week ago. He dares not get out of bed or move around daily. I would like to ask: Is prolonged sitting permissible after coronary stent placement?

Generally, this is not advisable. After surgery, physical activity should be gradually increased starting 24 hours postoperatively. When getting up from a seated or squatting position, movements should be slow and deliberate—sudden exertion must be avoided. Patients may resume physical activity after surgery for this condition, but it must be done in moderation. Regarding diet, patients should control their intake of cholesterol and total calories, and reduce salt consumption. Smoking cessation is mandatory after surgery—particularly within the first four weeks following stent placement. Alcohol consumption must also be limited. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, lipid profile, and other relevant parameters is essential.
