What are the effective treatments for pediatric sinusitis?
Disease description:
My child has a relatively severe case of sinusitis. A friend mentioned there’s an effective treatment method, so I’d like to inquire: What are the effective treatments for pediatric sinusitis?
In terms of treatment, patients should first receive symptomatic anti-inflammatory therapy, including oral anti-inflammatory medications such as Dukexin (a compound preparation containing pseudoephedrine and chlorpheniramine), amoxicillin, penicillin, and potassium vitamin C tablets. Budesonide nebulization inhalation may be used to reduce sinus congestion and edema. In children with sinusitis—absent any special circumstances—the primary focus is typically on treating upper respiratory tract infections. Cephalosporin antibiotics are commonly prescribed for symptom management; in severe cases, metronidazole may be added concurrently.
