Disease description:

It was raining, and the road was slippery. I lost my balance and fell directly onto my shoulder without grabbing anything for support. At that moment, I was unable to move. Bystanders called 120, and the diagnosis was adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) triggered by trauma. How is trauma-induced adhesive capsulitis treated?

Treatment includes immobilization, among other measures. Initially, the affected area must be immobilized, followed by an MRI of the injured site to assess for ligament tears or other injuries. If a ligament tear is confirmed, immobilization with a brace or cast is typically required for two to three weeks. Additionally, failure to promptly manage the injury may lead to contracture and adhesion of the damaged ligaments and joint capsule, resulting in restricted shoulder elevation.
