Moist earwax may result from water entering the ear during face washing or bathing. It may also occur in individuals with “oily ears,” a genetically determined, normal physiological variant that typically requires no specific treatment. Additionally, otitis externa (outer ear infection) can cause similar symptoms, often accompanied by a sensation of fullness or pain, burning, and—in severe cases—purulent discharge.
