I’m planning to take my child for refractive surgery in the next few days, but I’m unsure whether the procedure will be suitable at that time. It is essential to determine whether the patient meets the surgical indications and whether any contraindications exist. Astigmatism can be treated surgically; however, astigmatism correction surgery is typically limited by corneal thickness, imposing certain restrictions on the degree of refractive error that can be corrected—generally ranging from approximately 100 to 1000 degrees.
