Can dry eye syndrome be cured?

Dry eye syndrome can be effectively treated. Patients may receive treatment with artificial tears and other ophthalmic medications. Consuming foods rich in vitamin A—such as milk, pork liver, and carrots or other vegetables containing beta-carotene—is recommended; oral cod liver oil supplementation is also an option. In cases of indigestion or gastrointestinal disorders, intramuscular injection of vitamin A may be considered. It is essential to identify and eliminate potential contributing factors—for example, minimizing prolonged exposure to computers, smartphones, and other digital screens. Daily warm compresses and lid margin (meibomian) gland massage are also beneficial.
