What should I do for erosive oral lichen planus?
Disease description:
Recently, I noticed redness in my mouth and discomfort while eating. After a medical examination, the doctor diagnosed me with erosive oral mucosal lichen planus. What should I do?
For erosive oral lichen planus with mild symptoms, antifungal medications—such as itraconazole or ketoconazole—may be prescribed under a physician’s guidance. Concurrently, sodium bicarbonate mouth rinses may be used. In cases of more severe symptoms, corticosteroids—such as prednisolone—may be administered to control the disease.
