Can individuals with strabismus wear contact lenses?
Disease description:
I would like to wear contact lenses, but I also have strabismus. I’m unsure whether it’s safe or appropriate for me to do so—can people with strabismus wear contact lenses?
Strabismus patients can wear contact lenses. In such cases, patients may correct their condition by wearing contact lenses. Contact lenses pose no harm when worn on the eyeball. After wearing contact lenses, esotropia can also be partially corrected. Intermittent exotropia may improve to some extent with contact lens use. Patients should also practice good daily hygiene—washing hands before handling lenses is essential for maintaining cleanliness.
