Can ear cleaning remove cerumen?

Recently, there has been some earwax buildup in my ear canal, and I would like to have it removed through ear candling. Can ear candling effectively remove earwax?

Ear cleaning (aural toilet) can generally remove some cerumen. If the cerumen is located relatively anteriorly in the ear canal and is small in amount, ear cleaning may effectively clear it. However, if there is excessive cerumen secretion or if the cerumen is situated close to the tympanic membrane, ear cleaning may not completely remove all cerumen. Moreover, in cases of cerumen impaction, prompt consultation with an otolaryngologist is recommended for appropriate evaluation and treatment.
