What is the normal blood glucose level for patients with type 2 diabetes?
Disease description:
I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes by my physician and have been actively following the prescribed treatment plan. I’m scheduled for blood glucose monitoring again tomorrow. What are the normal blood glucose levels for individuals with type 2 diabetes?
In patients with type 2 diabetes, a fasting blood glucose level below 6.1 mmol/L is considered normal; a postprandial (2-hour) blood glucose level below 7.8 mmol/L is also within the normal range. If monitored blood glucose levels exceed these thresholds, prompt consultation with a physician is required to assess disease severity, followed by appropriate antihyperglycemic drug therapy.
